Dutch designer Taimen Schmelders worked in collaboration with Japanese ceramic producer Maruban to craft this stunning vessel from the UTSUA collection.

Taimen combined both the modern technology present at Maruban with the handcrafted techniques that are still so vital to Japanese culture.

By using a flat white finish, something quite unique to the Arita area in Japan, the shadows hit the delicate edges that are scraped away by hand and create quite a  statement. This really is a collection that combines both Japanese and Western styles in a cohesive manner.

Please note: These pieces are finished by hand and feature small markings from the making process. Each piece is one of a kind. Use a melamine sponge to remove stubborn stains.
