The work of Akiko Kuwahata and Ken Winther is really quite beautiful. Akiko's background as a woodworker and furniture maker in Japan has been combined with her study at the Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark. Ken's skillset comes from his furniture making family and working at PP Møbler, the main producers of furniture for Hans J Wegner.
Akiko Ken Made is a combined effort to produce objects of timeless quality, such as furniture and wooden tableware that have all the principles of functionality in mind. Ken has a delicate touch and is very intricate with his construction methods. Akiko compliments his work with her ability to explore the potential of natural wood through modern design. They both do a fantastic job at bringing out the beauty in these raw materials.
