Brass Salad Fork

by Rieko Fujimoto

One of our limited edition brass objects handmade by master craftsman Rieko Fujimoto is this salad fork. It's been shaped by Rieko Fujimoto herself at her quaint studio in Neyagawa, Osaka.

She uses an array of specialist hand tools that enable her to hammer and pound each utensil to shape, leaving indentations that set this apart from its mass produced counterpart. Like the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, this item celebrates the idea of imperfection with the brass material finding new patina and character as it ages.
