Takeo Suhara, who also goes under the name of Yuta Craft, makes in a city in Osaka Prefecture called Minoh. This is a forested valley on the outskirts of Osaka, placed between the busy metropolis of Osaka and the nature that stretches beyond.
Using this as inspiration, Takeo Suhara makes spoons, forks and dishes from brass at his studio. His style is very unique as he uses slightly thicker brass and leaves many of the makers marks on the surface of the work. Not only does this add character, it also reflects the light in unique ways.
Takeo Suhara's goal is to make work that can change and adapt with the user over time, as well as becoming more in-keeping with the home and its surroundings.
