Japanese ceramic studio Nankei specialise in the production of these beautiful cups that can also be used for desserts.
The clay is the reason Nankei are able to produce such a cup without an exterior glaze, naturally changing colour during the firing and offering a smooth surface with tiny irregularities from the making process.
This clay body does not absorb water and becomes more glossy with time. Depending on the drink or food used the exterior clay body can stain. A multifunctional piece with a minimalist aesthetic.
