Tall Hakeme Teapot

by Katsufumi Baba

A truly unique vessel is this tall hakeme teapot, hakeme is a decoration technique in which a stiff brush is used to apply slip directly to the surface of a pot. The teapot itself is easy to pour and has a smooth surface.

Inside there's a strainer which sits over the spout entrance, meaning that you can brew leaves inside without them getting caught in the cup. Another nice touch is the unusual lid with small handle, pinched with the fingers to make it easy to pick up. A teapot that should be used daily and very much cherished.

Approx Measurements: 13cm Height x 17cm Width (handle to spout)
