Raku Flow Jug

Kate Schuricht

Regular price £295.00

An extra large raku jug handmade by British artist Kate Schuricht in her UK studio. This commanding ceramic piece has been raku fired to create the stunning smoky textures on the surface with crackles on the interior of the pot. It is a decorative piece and not meant for use with liquid.

Kate’s designs have a pared down aesthetic and she continuously explores original ways of combining surface and form to create pleasing works of art.

Raku originated from ancient Japanese firings where glazed pieces are rapidly fired and removed from the kiln when the glaze is molten (1000 C). The hot pieces are then put straight into sawdust for smoking. The raku process is dramatic and unpredictable and it ensures that no two pieces are ever the same.

Please note: Each jug is made by hand and may feature differences in the glaze and clay body. These containers are not watertight or foodsafe. Please display away from direct sunlight. Wipe clean with a damp, lint free cloth.

Dimensions: 20cm Length x 13cm Width x 15cm Height (Size 8). Material: Ceramic. Handmade in the UK. An original design by Kate Schuricht ©
