Japanese craftsman Masayuki Yanai lives and works in Western Tokyo where he produces all of his woodwork by hand. Masayuki's project 'HAKO SHIKI' pays particular attention to wood that would otherwise go to waste. He believes that there are too many trees felled and wooden objects that are not used.
For this reason, he makes the best of the wood at his disposal, using unique and intriguing design to capture the essence of the natural environment and its benefits to us as a human species. This charm can be found in all of his works.
