Japanese ceramic studio Nankei specialise in the production of these beautiful matcha bowls that can also be used as a cup.

The clay is the reason Nankei are able to produce such a bowl without a glaze, naturally changing colour during the firing and offering a smooth surface with tiny irregularities inside that mellow the taste of the tea and make it slightly less astringent.

Named 'kittate-wan', this bowl designed to transform the traditional matcha bowl from a purely special object tucked away in a cupboard to an object that can be used daily. Multifunctional and beautiful!
