Brown Metallic Pitcher
An impressive black pot with spout handmade by Japanese potter Keiichi Tanaka at his studio in Kawagoe, a city located just outside Tokyo. This is a tall pitcher with a quirky pouring spout, it could be used to pour drink or other liquids around the table. To finish Keiichi has applied a nice metallic glaze.
He achieves this surface colour by applying a metal-infused glaze and firing at 1200°C, then applying other pigments and firing again at a much lower temperature. This is certainly a quirky piece that is sure to turn a few heads.
Please note: These are made by hand so each one may differ slightly from the photo, they all have their own character.
