An Urushi cup with a 'white' lacquer coating, handmade by Japanese creative duo Kenichi and Minkao Fujii.
The wooden vessel has been hand-turned on the lathe by Husband Keichi before his wife Minkao applies this unusual Urushi lacquer resin.
A traditional coating that has been used in Japan and the far east for thousands of years, this originates from the sap of Urushi tree which once harvested and matured over a number of years can provide protection for a lifetime.
