Water Cup

by Stefan Andersson

A cup inspired by a small stream located near Stefan Andersson's home in Sweden. They are made out of very coarse clay and have been coated with a thin porcelain slip and a thin transparent glaze that gets thicker on the inside and runs down the sides giving a unique colour contrast.

This version of the water cup has been fired in a gas kiln with vegetable oil, in the gas kiln as the atmosphere reduces you get this beautiful icy white/grey glaze coating. Depending on the location of the pot in the kiln each cup has a slightly different appearance.

Please be aware that each of these are unique and have their own characteristics.
