Tsuchi White Orange Vase
Delicately handcrafted by the celebrated ceramic artist, Miki Furusho, this vase is a testament to the harmonious blend of tradition and modernity.
This vase undergoes a meticulous shaping process, formed by tapping raw clay with a board. It's then adorned with a luminescent layer of white slip, giving it a serene facade. In contrast, the brick-orange sections are carefully painted with mud sourced from the Izu Peninsula, subtly adding depth and texture to the piece. The edges of the vase feature an understated soil pattern, hinting at its earthy origins while introducing an element of delicate intricacy.
This vase, while rooted in tradition, carries a contemporary touch, making it a unique blend of the old and new, and a perfect addition to spaces that cherish nuanced artistry.
