Tapered Line Vase

by Keiichi Tanaka

A beautiful vase that's strikingly elegant by Japanese potter Keiichi Tanaka. Handmade at his studio in Kawagoe, a city located just outside Tokyo, this tall vase is perfect as decoration or to house a piece of foliage. Each vase is built by hand using stoneware clay, he then applies a white glaze to the surface and sections off portions of the pot using thin black lines.

Reminding us of Le Corbusier's Chapel at Ronchamp, Keiichi has been able to combine both character and charm in to one architectural sculpture. Each vase comes with two stoppers, one wide and one slightly rounded.

Note: This has been made by hand so there may be small marks or surface changes that can't be picked up on camera, each has its own character and is one of a kind.

Approx Measurements: 1.5cm Diameter (opening), 13.5cm Height, 9.5cm Width (front and back)
