A spotted white cup that's been handmade by Keiji Tanaka at his studio in Shiga, Japan. This cup has been produced on a kick wheel, a traditional pottery wheel powered by Keiji's foot, after fired in a week-long wood firing that leaves beautiful, natural looking textures on the surface of the vessel.
The techniques are traditional in the respect that the glaze and firing method are unpredictable, Keiji though is looking to use this rusticity to bring out a modern functionality that will stand the test of time. A cup that you could use and enjoy everyday without fail.
