Kanazawa-based Japanese artisan Yuki Osako is known for making functional works of art from glass. Her methods of frosting and cutting the glass make her works unique, not only beautiful on the eye but also to hold in the hand.
This particular vessel is a short glass cup that has been faceted and frosted. Yuki has frosted the whole piece, but if you look closely the frosting fades from clear at the edges of the facet to a slightly darker frosting in the middle. This makes for a piece that's visually appealing and certainly one of a kind.
