This bowl has been hand turned on the lathe by master craftsman Kenichi Fujii before his wife and fellow creative Minako applies the lacquer solution in thin layers.
Urushi refers to a tree that grows in a handful of Far Eastern countries that generates a remarkable sap that can be used to create a protective layer to bowls and vessels. Perfect for noodles and small meals.
