This wooden bowl has been hand turned on the lathe by master craftsman Akihiko Sugita, he then applies lacquer to the vessel in various layers to protect the surface.

Tetsu, meaning Iron, and Hachi, referring to a bowl of vessel, has a fantastic matte finish and a stunning form that would look perfect on any shelf.

This particular bowl is finely crafted and is very light. The outer walls are slightly rough in the hand, meaning you can feel the texture of the wood underneath, and it also features a unique pattern on the surface that's created during the lacquering process. This is one of a kind and should be cherished as a piece of art.
