A beautiful oval wooden plate by the Sonobe Sangyo workshop based in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture in Japan. These are hand turned out of natural wood, a technique mastered by Sonobe Sangyo's craftsmen.
Most noticeable are the fantastic markings on the surface, as well as the rounded shape. The markings are naturally occurring and make each piece unique. The perfect, smooth walls make them easy to hold and beautiful on the eye. Definitely a vessel to cherish! Treated with a urethane coating to protect the wood.
