A small matte green teapot by Japanese potter Takeshi Ohmura. This particular piece is modelled on a Yokode Kyūsu, a traditional Japanese teapot mainly used for brewing green tea. This means 'side handled teapot' in Japanese, and is one of the most common types of teapot found in Japan.
Ohmura is quite well known for his unusual glaze surfaces, which are often matte with one flat colour running throughout. In this case the teapot has a hint of green layered on top of a black glaze, which is subtle but also striking.
Note: These are made by hand so each one may differ slightly from the photo, they all have their own character.Approx Measurements: 13cm Length (handle to side of body), 10 (body to spout), 6cm Height
