This simple matte black plate by Japanese potter Katsufumi Baba would be a fantastic series to have in the home. Although these could be used for cakes and small deserts, they would also be a great compliment the other products from Katsufumi's handmade collection.
The matte black glaze is bold and beautiful. Up close there are unique markings from the firing and the rim is not symmetrical making for a very one of a kind plate. Surface wise the dish is smooth and has a little weight to it.
