Large Open Hibi Kuro Bowl

by Shinobu Hashimoto

This beautifully shaped bowl has been made by hand by Japanese potter Shinobu Hashimoto at his studio in Hokkaido, Japan.

Well-known for his unique style of decoration, this specific bowl is unique because the crackle effect shows through leaving a gold colour beneath the black body. The inner portion of the bowl has a dripping effect from the rim downwards, which makes for quite a contrast. This bowl would be great for serving salad or for general decoration purposes. Certainly one of a kind.
