Lacquer Cocktail Stirrer

by Yusuke Tazawa

A wooden lacquer coated utensil made by Japanese craftsman Yusuke Tazawa. This darker wood is quite something, the lacquer itself is applied using the fuki-urushi method, in which he repeatedly applies lacquer and then wipes it off.

Named the "Cocktail Stirrer" due to it's unusual shape, this spoon can also be used for sugar and salt, also for hot and cold drinks. The inspiration for such a utensil derives from the 'chashaku' (tea scoop used in the tea ceremony).
