Jagama Fired Bowl

by Stefan Andersson

A beautiful bowl that's been handmade from coarse white clay by Swedish potter Stefan Andersson at his studio in Siljansnäs, Sweden. Each bowl has been hand thrown on the wheel before slip is added, this slip reacts nicely with the ash and flames of the wood kiln that they have been fired in. In total they have been fired for two days and nights in a Jagama kiln (also know as a Dragon kiln).

This bowl is particularly nice as it holds similar to a tea bowl. The way they've been shaped means that both hands sit nicely just above the foot, meaning they would make great bowls to eat noodles and soup from. The finish is a subtle mixture of grey, yellow and blue, showing an abundance of texture and character.
