Ireko Chaki Black
Japanese ceramic studio Nankei specialise in the production of these beautiful teapot and cup sets that are made from an iron rich clay body.
This clay is the reason they are able to produce a teapot without a glaze, naturally shifting colour during the firing and offering a smooth surface with only tiny irregularities that mellow the taste of the tea and make it slightly less astringent.
The unique shape of the 'Ireko Chaki' makes it possible for two small cups to fit inside this 'Houhin' teapot. Although there isn't a handle on this teapot, the Houhin teapot is frequently used by the best tea masters in Japan. Pour slowly while holding with three fingers to make that perfect brew.
Please note: Each piece is handmade and may feature small markings from the making process. Ships directly from the OEN studio.
