Hibi Kesho Mug

by Shinobu Hashimoto

This Hibi Kesho Mug has been made by hand at Japanese potter Shinobu Hashimoto's studio in Hokkaido, Japan.

Well-known for his unique style of decoration, this specific style of mug has a crackled effect on the surface and offers a twist on your contemporary white glaze. Hibi meaning "crackle" and Kesho meaning "engobe", which is where he applies slip instead of glaze.

This classic mug features a fantastic curved handle, which adds both character and function to the piece. Can be used to enjoy tea and coffee on a daily basis.
