Enju Tea Plate

by Maiko Okuno

A rare item from Japanese woodworker Maiko Okuno, handmade at her studio in Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. As a lacquer artist most of her works have a lacquer coating, but these are unique as they've been left with the wood showing in all it's beauty.

Made from the wood of a Japanese pagoda tree (sophora japonica), these small wooden plates would make perfect saucers for cups and could also be used as small plates to serve sweets and snacks. On the bottom you will see Maiko Okuno's trademark stamp.

Please be aware that each one is handmade so the grain of the wood might differ slightly from the photographs.
