Chestnut Free Cup

by Kihachi Workshop

A beautiful wooden lacquer cup by the Kihachi studio, the oldest producer of wood products in the Yamanaka region of Japan. These are hand turned on an electric wheel out of natural oak, a technique Kihachi's craftsmen have mastered over six generations.

The most noticeable element is the clean black lacquer surface of the cup, as well as the cut-in shape towards the foot. The perfect, thin walls make them easy to hold and beautiful on the eye, definitely a vessel to cherish. Treated with a black lacquer coating to protect the wood.
