One of our limited brass objects is this jam spoon handcrafted by talented metalworker Rieko Fujimoto. This spoon has been hand shaped by Rieko herself within her quaint studio in Osaka, Japan.
Rieko uses an array of specialist hand tools that enable her to hammer and pound each utensil in to shape, leaving indentations that set them apart from the mass produced counterpart. Like the Japanese concept of 'wabi-sabi', this item celebrates the idea of imperfection with the brass material finding a new patina and character as it ages.
