WATO

Kamakura is a Japanese seaside city south of Tokyo. Although known for the many Buddhist Zen temples, Shinto shrines, and Kamakura's most recognisable landmark the "Great Buddha", there's an abundant of craft in the city thanks to the strong culture and tradition found in this area.

WATO is a workshop based here that specialises in the production of metal cutlery and dishes from brass. Consisting of craftsmen Kasumi Ogasawara and Satoshi Saito, each brass object is delicately handcrafted to show the best of the material and connect everyday people with the essence of handicraft.
