Takeshi Oike

Japanese woodworker and architect Takeshi Oike uses his background as an engineer and ties them together with his skills as a woodworker to found Mujina Woodwork in 2016 where he makes functional woodworks by hand.

Oike's style does not try to hide or mask the marks left by the chisel. Each one is incorporated in to the design, using a mixture of natural finishes and lacquer to make the natural wood sing. Beautiful works with a contemporary aesthetic.
