Takeshi Ohmura is a Japanese artist and craftsman that works from his studio in Fukuoka, Japan. After graduating from the Arts & Sciences and Ceramics programs at Tajimi Technical High school, Takeshi Omura studied under potter Keisuke Iwata. Keisuke is well known for his flat, subtle surfaces that often mimic rocks and other objects that can be found in nature.
As he stepped away from his apprenticeship with Keisuke Iwata, Ohmura decided to start his own studio in Fukuoka. He has been able to combine some of these flat matte surfaces with colour to create thin vessels that have a metallic like quality. These are truly unique and one of a kind.
