A unique item by Japanese potter Katsufumi Baba is this black sugar pot which comes with a handmade wooden spoon and lid, perfect for sugar and jam. It's easy to pick up thanks to the lines running up and down the body, this also gives the piece a lot of character.
In terms of size this pot has been designed to be held in the hand, making it suitable for the breakfast table and other occasions where the container needs to be shared around. Katsufumi makes the lid out of tin (non-lead), he heats it in a pan and then pours in to a silicon mould. Using this process he gets an uneven surface texture.
