Studio Bwanji

On the outskirts of Tokyo resides Japanese artist Maiko Wakasugi. Maiko's speciality is making vessels on the pottery wheel using a translucent porcelain clay and a transparent glaze that's matte in appearance. Her goal is to make work that gives off a soft impression and is harmonious with everyday life.

To create a unique atmosphere she inlays many of her pieces with vertical stripes, crafting a simple design that's sure to stay timeless and functional throughout the years to come. Enjoy as the light shines off of this wonderful white porcelain body.
