These small tea cups that come with lid and saucer, titled Hibi Kuro after the black glaze itself, have been made by hand at Japanese potter Shinobu Hashimoto's studio in Hokkaido, Japan.
Well-known for his unique style of decoration, these are quite unique as the crackle effect shows through leaving a gold colour beneath the black body. To contrast you have the saucer and lid which is in a black/gold colour, reflecting the light quite beautifully. They're certainly one of a kind.
