Brass Dessert Fork

by Rieko Fujimoto

One of the limited brass objects from maker Rieko Fujimoto is this large dessert fork. It's been hand shaped by Rieko herself within her quaint studio in Neyagawa, Osaka.

She uses an array of specialist hand tools that enable her to hammer and pound each utensil to shape, leaving indentations that set this apart from its mass produced counterpart.

Like the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, this item celebrates the idea of imperfection with the brass material finding new patina and character as it ages.

Dimensions: 17cm in Length x 1.5cm in Width (fork head)
