Motoharu Ozawa is a potter based in Toki, a city located in Gifu Prefecture, Japan. Born in Tokyo in 1974, Motoharu relocated to the Toki area in 2007 which has a history of pottery dating back more than 1,300 years. It was especially known for its crockery used in the tea ceremony.
Ozawa creates works that are simple and quiet in appearance, using function as a base for all his ideas and concepts. He then builds on this using unique glazes that have natural tones and colours running throughout. Motoharu doesn't attempt to hide the imperfections, instead he uses these as inspiration to give the work charm and character. A beautiful selection of work that is sure to stand the test of time.
