Antique Wine Bottle
by Miki Furusho
A whimsical bottle vase handcrafted by ceramic artist Miki Furusho at her studio near Tokyo.
Furusho carefully combines a plain Shigaraki clay with a clay dug by hand from the Izu Peninsula in Japan to create a layered pattern that links to the ancient craft of pottery, also holding a contemporary calm that comes through thanks to the simplicity in her design.
Place a small flower inside this bottle and brighten up any interior space. The cork stopper has been shaped using raw clay from Izu, so it has a unique tiled appearance to match the main body.. The bottom of this vase is thick to make it stable.
