An impressive white glazed bowl handmade by Japanese potter Keiichi Tanaka at his studio in Kawagoe, a city located just outside Tokyo. This large bowl would be perfect for noodles or at dinner time, up-close you can see the stoneware clay showing through and blue/black flecks from the glaze scattered throughout.
He achieves this surface colour by applying a reactive glaze and firing at about 1200°C, then applying other pigments and firing again at a much lower temperature. This is certainly a quirky piece of functional tableware that is sure to turn a few heads.
Note: These are made by hand so each one may differ slightly from the photo, they all have their own character.Approx Measurements: 16.5cm Diameter, 8cm Height
