Blue Pigment Wide Bowl
An impressive bright blue bowl by Japanese potter Keiichi Tanaka at his studio in Kawagoe, a city located just outside Tokyo. This wide bowl is perfect as a fruit bowl or to serve salads and and large portions of food.
He achieves this stunning blue surface colour by applying a glaze and firing at 1200°C, then applying other pigments and firing again at a much lower temperature. This is certainly a quirky piece that is sure to turn a few heads.
