A white lacquer bowl handmade from zelkova wood by Japanese craftsman Hiroyuki Sugawara. Hiroyuki creates wooden tools for daily life at his studio named Greenlight in Chichibu, Saitama Prefecture.

The form is first turned on a lathe and then finished by hand. Interestingly, the coating used is a white lacquer that both protects the wood and highlights all the little markings where the maker has been at work. Lacquer is also known to have antibacterial properties and looks particularly fitting on this lipped bowl with a lip.

Note: All of these feature small marks and details that can't be picked up by the camera, the colour may also differ slightly.

Dimensions: 20.5cm Length x 10.5cm Height
