Black Walnut Teaspoon

by Eiji Hagiwara

A handcrafted spoon made from black walnut by Japanese woodworker Eiji Hagiwara. This darker wood is quite something, the scoop itself is fairly flat but could be used for spices, sugar, and other condiments of this nature.

The surface is smooth on the handle but becomes slightly textured on the mouth, helping to grip food slightly, it also highlights the path that the maker has used to chisel out the form. The end of the spoon is treated with Eiji's wiped lacquer technique.

Dimensions: 19cm Length x 4cm Width (mouth)
