Large Keyaki Lacquer Dish

A special dish handmade in Aomori Prefecture in Japan by woodworker Kentaro Ooyu. This plate is ideal for sharing and serving food on the table, and is made out of zelkova wood, the Japanese name is being 'Keyaki'.

The form looks very natural and has lots of character, which is helped by the shiny but smooth lacquer coating. On the bottom of the dish you'll find the name Keyaki inscribed, noting the type of wood used for this beautiful piece of functional art.
