Carl Auböck
Triangle Bookends
£240.00
The perfect addition to any modernist inspired interior are these striking bookends, originally designed by Carl Aubock in Vienna, Austria.
A student of the famous craftsman Johannes Itten at the original Bauhaus, Aubock went on to become one of his countries most celebrated designers. He led the way for modernist design and craft in Austria and was a major influence throughout Europe.
His designs still prove ever popular, with his life's creations reproduced in honour of their timeless nature. The triangle bookends are very much a favourite here in our office for this very reason, as they combine function, form and visual appeal in perfect measure.
Approx Measurements: Height 16cm, Width 11cm
Fellow designers will know, it's very important to keep your book collection safe and these would be ideal for combining a current selection of books out on a ledge or in the office. Two holes on either side complete the look and give a nice architectural form.
As with all objects that come out of the legendary Auböck workshop, this set is of the highest quality and has beautiful form. Made by hammering and working a piece of brass, a patina has then been added to give it this grey/black looking exterior that only gets better with age.
