Tender's leather goods are cut from oak bark leather and are all tanned in East Devon on the banks of the river Coly. Leather has been made here since Roman times.

This traditional oak bark tanage takes up to 18 months during which the hides are limed, soaked in weak "handlers" for the first two or three months, then in stronger tan pits for over a year. The hides are then dried and rolled, before being hand-finished.

These leathers are all finished with fish oils and mutton tallow, which keeps heavy bridle straps supple and prevents cracking. The buckle is hand cast brass made in the UK and comes with a unique hook function.

This belt will age over time and the leather should turn a deeper brown accordingly. We've tried our best to convey the colour of the belt in the images but each one is individual and has it's own character.
